The Golden Journey of the Hall
The hostel was first started in the barracks near science faculty Delhi University. The old building was demolished in 1986 but the memories of this famous hostel still remained alive. After the students shifted to new hostel (i.e. Present Jubilee hall) in 1956, old jubilee hall was converted into a music center. In 1979-1980, a new hostel was demanded and the old building of the hall was again utilized for residential purposes under the name Jubilee Hall extension.
In 1948 a new site in the beautiful lap of northern ridge , near Khyber pass was chosen and it was decided to construct a new building occupying the centre stage of sprawling lawns spread over 8-10 acres of land. Thus came up the existence of south block of the present building of the hostel. In 1958 towards the mall road north block, in the form of pearl into the throne, was added into the hall building to give more students an opportunity to be part of this proud legacy.
Indeed, jubilee hall became one of the first hostels of the university to be provided with all the infrastructure facilities and in-residence presence of administrative staff and the employees. Apart from this big peepal, Neem, Jamun, and other trees are growing in its premises along with sprawling lawns go to make which quite salubrious conditions for the residents to study and relax.
Moreover a big and spacious common room furnished with fairly good equipments like T.V., Music system, newspapers, magazine stands, indoor game facilities like carom board, table Tennis and chess provides opportunity to the residents for a leisurely rest.
