Past Administration (from 1947 to till date)

The Jubilee Hall has a long glorified and cherished history of producing eminent scholars who serve the Nation in all the frontiers. Over the years blossom the early buds into think tanks and transform them into statesmen for the country was achieved under the able administration of the Hall. Reputed academicians of the University have rendered their service for the same. To pay tribute to the services of these legendary academicians, Hall administration under the leadership of Professor DS Rawat took a decision to enlist them and cast the information on the web site, as well as in the hall office. It is pertinent to mention that till the year 1975 the current post “PROVOST” was designated as “Master” so up 1976 it may please read as ‘Master’ instead of ‘Provost’.

Jubilee Hall, is a well known centre of Higher learning in India, and enjoys the status of a college in the University of Delhi. The Hall has produced excellent minds over half of century of its existence and fondly known as “factory of Civil Servants” amongst its residents. This hall will remain obliged to all its alumni especially to Mr. Lalit Mansingh, Former India's ambassador to USA; Mr. Vikas Singh, Former Additional Solicitor General of India; Prof. Sabyasachi Bhattacharya, Former Director, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research; Mr. Bhupender Singh Hooda, Chief Minister, Haryana; Mr. Amit Mitra, Former Chairman, FICCI and Finance Minister, West Wangal Government; Mr. NK Singh, Former Chairman, CBDT; Mr. MM Punchi, Former Chief Justice of India; Vijoy Prakash, Former Principal Secretary, Government of Bihar; Mr. Navtej Sarna, Former Ambassador to Israel; Mr. JM Lyngdoh, Former Chief Commissioner of India and Mr. H. Jelshyam, Former Chief Secretary, Manipur. It’s just impossible to mention name of all the alumni who brought such a laurel to this Hall, but it’s an effort to acknowledge the services of our alumni. I trust and hope that in future also, the residents and students of Jubilee Hall will not lag behind.

The academic institutions are known by the quality of brains it produces over the time of its existence. So, whatever Jubilee Hall is today, the credit goes to its alumni, who have brought laurels to this hall, and the University. While recognizing our alumni, we must not forget the services of Hall Administration, who have shared their valuable time for the welfare of the students. Jubilee Hall came into being in 1947, and Professor Ram Behari, a well known Mathematician, took charge as MASTER of the Hall. In 1952, Padambhushan Professor (Dr) TR Seshadri, joined the Hall as its Master. The hall feels proud for Professor Seshadri as he was elected FRS (Fellow of Royal Society). He published over 1500 research articles and established the Department of Chemistry in the University. As a scientist and a karma yogi, he extended enduring inspiration to those who came in his contact. Professor Swarup Singh joined this Hall as its Master in the year 1965. Professor Singh was Head, Department of English, and Principal, Kirorimal College. Later he became Vice Chancellor of the University in 1971. He also served as a member of Rajya Sabha and the Governor of Kerala. It’s our privilege and honor to be associated with such an institute.
